The Master’s Degree Programme in Law for Sustainability and Security (LM SC-GIUR) is a two-year programme designed to offer students advanced training built around two thematic pillars.
The needs of sustainability and security are central to long-standing reform processes and already today outline a growing space for those who wish to work in the many professional fields they influence. Moreover, the need to promote and govern sustainable development under conditions of overall security is expected to intensify in the future; therefore, specialised knowledge of the legal issues involved, together with the corresponding skills, represents an essential foundation for shaping jurists capable of responding to the needs of contemporary society.
The themes of sustainability and security cut across multiple sectors and professional profiles and thus allow for the development of specialised training capable of qualifying different categories of legal professionals. These include:
More specifically, this Master’s Degree Programme aims to train, among others, the following professional profiles:
These professional qualifications are designed to meet the specific needs of companies and public administrations—including strategic and innovation-related needs—thus enabling graduates to enter or advance within these sectors, taking on roles of high responsibility or providing consultancy services in their favour.
The programme does not set a capped number of enrolments and will be delivered in a blended format (with distance learning hours amounting to approximately two-thirds of the course) in order to accommodate off-site students and working students. For the in-person components, multimedia materials will be provided for those unable to attend.
The educational design is structured around a common thematic core, aimed at consolidating knowledge and fostering sensitivity to both themes and their mutual interaction. Students may then choose from a set of optional courses—some focused on security, others on sustainability—which can be combined to shape the educational pathway most suited to their interests and professional aspirations.
